To Win the Latino Community, Speak to Their Hearts — In Their Own Language
TAUS Post-Editing Webinar for Brazilian Portuguese Module
Machine translation has come a long way since its first inception in the 1950s, and today it is obvious that machine-translation solutions are becoming a business model for more and more enterprises. Since machine translation (MT) follows a unique approach to produce content in a target language, rather different from human translation, and since the quality aspects of machine-translation output also raise questions within the industry, the rising demand for a new breed of linguists, that of the post-editors, is on the horizon. The TAUS webinar series introduces post-editing (PE) as an emerging profession within the translation industry. Ccaps Production Director, Cassius Figueiredo, Vendor Manager, Janayna Couto, and Language Specialist, Mitsue Siqueira, discussed Ccaps experience with MT PE and offered an overview of potential post-editing issues with Brazilian Portuguese. The goal of the webinar was to introduce the new TAUS Post-editing course. The course provides comprehensive background information on Machine Translation, Quality Evaluation, facts, trends and good general knowledge about Post-editing, and you can find more information on the course here.
Following a successful presentation in Istanbul in 2014, Fabiano Cid was back in Sevilla for the GALA conference with another highly engaging session that focused not on his failures like last time, but on yours! Specifically, on what might be wrong with your sales and marketing strategy. Fabiano explored inexpensive and uncomplicated marketing and sales tools that help company owners and executives reach their targets without going bankrupt or going grey. Think of it as Blue Ocean Strategy meets Lonely Planet for SMBs: with a good dose of creativity, smart research, and very little money, nothing should stop you from reaching your sales and marketing goals.
