Vendor Management Seminar
Posted in June 11th, 2010 by Leandro Barreto
Every day, new technologies appear in the language industry scenario. From machine translation engines to new environments for web-based project management, these tools are fundamental for discussing the path the industry will take, considering the influence they will have on the way we do business and offer our services.
For this reason, IMTT and MasterWord Services joined forces to promote the 4º Vendor Management Seminar at the Venetian Resort Hotel, in Las Vegas. The Seminar will allow vendor managers all over the world to gather and discuss the best practices that will shape the market, while creating an environment suitable for sharing experiences and challenges with industry experts. Ccaps has always been a supporter of such initiatives, since they further enhance the professionalism in our market.
On July 23 and 24, 2010, Las Vegas will play host to a meeting of industry authorities and innovators. The event’s program will be in the same line of previous seminars organized by IMTT. It will cover topics of major interest for localization professionals, while helping vendor managers improve their recruiting processes and guarantee the selection of quality providers. The sessions, presented by leading authorities, such as Renato Beninatto, Bob Donaldson, Kirti Vashee and others, will create a relaxed atmosphere, adequate for open debate and networking.
Since the last seminar, organized during the 6th Language & Technology Conference, in April 2009, everyone was looking forward to the next event. Mark Rockford, Vendor Relations Manager of MasterWord Services, and Cecilia Iros, Operations Manager of IMTT, decided to combine their efforts and make it happen again. Rockford and Iros highlight the opportunities to learn the most recent vendor management techniques and define the event as the perfect occasion to develop relationships among colleagues and share industry common practices.
IMTT, with whom we partnered to organize Think Latin America, and MasterWord Services, a Ccaps client since 2007, offer translation and localization solutions for a varied clientele. The companies believe in professionalism and commitment as a means to manage complex projects and facilitate communication among different peoples and cultures.
For the organizers, the main goal of the gathering is to overcome the limitations related to vendor manager training. The increasing relevance of the vendor manager’s role in selecting a qualified, experienced and dedicated team has become clear. If not fully prepared or without the adequate tools, such team can compromise every effort of the company to fully meet its client’s needs.

Just be careful with that roulette! =)
